JIL Dreketi football coach, Johan Leewai is confident that the inclusion of five new players through the Transfer Window will make a difference in their Vodafone Premier League 2017 opener against Nadi.

Dreketi players reported to their training session at the Nasekula District School ground yesterday for Sunday’s clash at Subrail Park in Labasa.

Leewai said he has decided to choose a different training spot to allow him to work on his players’ fitness.

“I have been working with the players on their fitness level, team structure and how to be more defensive,” he said.

“Our first match this season is against Nadi this Sunday at 3pm. We are aware that Nadi is a good team and like always we will be prepared to meet them. I have trained the players according to my expectations of them.

“We have five new players joining us this week and I’m very happy to have them,” Leewai said.

“They are experienced players and I’m confident that they would work together with the existing players and bring good results.

“We already have good attendance during training even sometimes when there is heavy rain during the day.”

Leewai said straight after Nadi, the following weekend they are expecting to face Suva and then a week later against Rewa.

He said they would reveal the players names as soon as the Transfer Window closes tomorrow.
