A teacher who allegedly assaulted a student appeared in the Korovou Magistrates Court in Tailevu yes­terday.

Queen Victoria School teacher, Saimoni Liutaki, allegedly committed the offence at the school on February 5.

He appeared before Magistrate Chaitanya Lakshmi.

Saimoni Liutaki pleaded not guilty and was granted a bail of $1000.

The next hearing will be on August 22 at the Korovou Court.
