It was a proud moment for Mohammed Zareef, 18, yesterday after being inducted as the headboy of Nasinu Muslim College yesterday.

Mohammed, an aspiring accountant said he was grateful to his parents support, not forgetting his teachers.

“I’m just thankful to the teachers for having faith in me and I’m very happy that I’ve been given this responsibility. I will do my best to uphold my duties,” said Zareef.

His father, Mohammed Hanif works as a chief assessor at the Fiji Revenue and Customs Authority while his mother, Ibrana Nisha is a domestic house wife.

“I’ll be taking up accounting courses next year and would like to be a financial accountant,” said Mohammed.

It was also a proud moment for Nafisha Ali, 18.

She said she will do her best to uphold her duties as the headgirl of the school.

Her father, Hasmat Ali is a taxi driver while her mother, Rozina Begum is a domestic house wife. She aspires to be a teacher.

34 senior prefects and six prefect heads were inducted at Nasinu Muslim College. The school has a roll of 635 students from Years 9 to 13 and 43 staff members. Edited by Caroline Ratudra
