Spend More Time with Children, Parents Urged
Permanent Secretary for the National Disaster Management Office Meleti Bainimarama yesterday.

Meleti Bainimarama has encouraged parents to spend more time with their children rather than with other activities.

The Permanent Secretary for the National Disaster Management Office urged them to take advantage of the opportunities offered by the Government on free education, bus fare scheme, free milk, textbooks etc.

He said parents should be part of the Government vision in setting up a proper platform to develop a clever and prosperous society.

He was speaking at the third roadshow in the Central Division organised by the Ministry of Rural and Maritime Development and National Disaster Management at the Lomary Secondary School grounds.

Spending

Government had spent $693,934 for the development of Serua province, he said.

“Serua has benefitted a lot from the number of projects funded by Government in the past and recent years,” Mr Bainimarama said.

“This shows how committed the Government is in fulfilling its vision on rural development initiatives so no one is left out.

“We need to work together and make Fiji a better place to live in.

“Government is always concerned with the challenges and difficulties faced by communities accessing not only Government services but other services not provided by government.”

The road show will end today.
