Ship For World Youth Arrives Tonight

Delegation from different countries will be here, including ours
The Ship for World Youth (SWY) which is also hosting a Fijian delegation onboard will berth at Port of Suva tonight.
The Ministry of Youth and Sports will host more than 200 youths from this 29th Ship for World Youth programme.
The Ministry’s newly-appointed director George Francis said the Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama was expected to arrive for the welcoming.
“A Fijian traditional welcoming ceremony will take place by students from the Youth Training Centre – Valelevu (under the ministry) onboard the ship,” said Mr Francis.
Mr Francis said there would be programmes scheduled for the three days including institution visits, a cultural night at the Vodafone Arena and village visitation on Sunday.
“Members of the public are all welcome to attend the entertainment night and its free admission as well,” he said.
About 50 volunteers from the ministry and from the SWY alumni will be part of the event.
Fiji has a delegation of 11 members on board the ship joined by youths from as far as Egypt, Canada, India, Costa Rica.
