Being badged the headboy of Vatuwaqa Primary School in Suva, was a dream come true for 13-year-old Ratu Seru Tubuna Vosarogo.

Ratu Seru said though it came as a surprise for him, he was always inspired by previous school head prefects over the years.

The Year 8 student was inducted as headboy on Thursday before teachers, guests, family and friends.

He said: “It was always my dream to become a headboy of Vatuwaqa Primary School and I am so happy that my dream finally came true.

“I worked very hard to always maintain good discipline which led to my election as headboy.

“I will set good examples of a leader to my juniors,” he said.

Headgirl, Raumue Fatiaki, 12, said: “I did not expect to become the headgirl of my school, but I am happy.”

“I will help our school’s headboy and other prefects perform our roles well,” she said.
