BSP, Red Cross, Post Fiji provide help for 20-member family

A Labasa family who lost their belongings in a fire last month, received a timely assistance from Bank South Pacific (BSP) and Post Fiji Shop with the support of Fiji Red Cross Society.
The family is made up of 20 members
Joji Matai, the father of nine, could still vividly remember how his house was razed to the ground on January 28 in Naduna.
“Thanks to BSP, Post Fiji Shop and Fiji Red Cross for their timely assistance.
“Currently, we are rebuilding our house in Naduna and are still in need of some housing materials.”
His seven-year-old daughter, Ranadi Vulakome, studying in Year Two at Naduna Arya Primary School in Labasa, was jumping with joy when she received her new school bag.
“I feel so happy because again I’ve got a new school bag. I don’t have to feel ashamed to be left out in school,” Ranadi said.
There were donations of stationeries, shoes, uniform and school bags.
BSP Labasa branch manager Eka Seduadua said the bank was humbled to provide for assistance for children’s special needs.
Fiji Red Cross Society Labasa administrator Viliame Taufa said: “I believe that whatever we had provided would surely assist them in their recovery period.”
