Vunikavikaloa Arya School’s new headgirl and headboy say they are prepared for the challenges that lie ahead with their school.
Shakshi Simran Raj and Tagimoci Lewemiqila were inducted as head prefects on Friday. Their school is located at Vaileka, Ra, with less than 400 students attending.
After the induction, headgirl Shakshi said she was happy and was ready for the new tasks which come with her new role.
“This role comes with a lot of responsibilities and I am ready to tackle each day as it comes,” she said.
“I am ready to help students, along with the teachers, in areas where they will need me.”
“I am very excited and thankful to the school for trusting me with this responsibility.”
Shakshi said she wishes to become a lawyer one day.
Headboy Tagimoci said he was looking forward to the rest of the year with his new leadership role.
He also thanked his father Apisalomi Naguni for always being there for him.
“My father works hard in the farm and struggles to send me to school,” he said.
“It is now my responsibility to live his dreams and be a good leader. That is the best I can do for him now.”
Tagimoci said he aims to become a Police officer when he grows up.
