The woman whose song is on repeat-mode in our buses, during grog sessions, in school, coupled with our own rendition and has a large Fijian following, is coming here.

Julia Zahra, the singer of ‘Just an Illusion’ is expected to make a tour of the Pacific including Fiji.

Darlene Underwood, Pacific Coast and Promotions producer and administrator said Zahra’s management had shown their interest.

Ms Underwood said they had initially written to her and asked about the chances of having Zahra perform at the Annual Uprising Music Festival last November.

However, because of the singer’s tight schedule, the plan could not go as they had wished.

Her concerts are now confirmed. She will perform on the March 10 at the Vodafone Arena and March 11 at the Prince Charles Park.

Tickets are selling at $15 a ticket at outlets in Damodar City Cinemas, Village 6 in Suva, Village 4 in Lautoka, TappooCity Suva and Tappoo Nadi.

Ms Underwood said the show was initially set for December 4 and 5 last year but because of Zahra’s schedule, it had to be postponed.

In early December, Zahra had stopped by the Nadi International Airport where Ms Underwood had caught up with her.

After throwing dates around, both parties managed to finalise the date on March this year.

“She wanted to perform in December, because she knew that her song “Just An Illusion” was a number one hit in Fiji,” she said.

Zahra is expected to arrive on March 8.

Supporting acts

Ms Underwood said there will be supporting acts and Zahra will perform in the main part of the show and closing.

“I know it is going to be a sell out,” she added.
