The Kia Sparrow youth club of Raiwai had a clean-up campaign yesterday around their neighbourhood in the Suva suburb.

Club member Semiti Cati said they had started at 7am yesterday and would finish by 1pm.

“We usually clean up in our own area but today we decided to clean various areas around Raiwai,” said Mr Cati.

About 25 youths were part of the clean-up with their garbage bags and gloves supplied by the Suva City Council.

Mr Cati said the main reason was to promote a healthy and cleaner living environment.

Fifteen-year-old youth member Adrian Bulawaqa said being part of the clean-up was to help keep his surroundings clean.

The club can also be contacted to do community clean-up for those who are interested for street cleaning, private yards and general cleaning.
