Over 300 runners took part in the 2017 Sportsworld Fun Walk/Run in Suva yesterday. The big turnout at My Suva Park really impressed the event officials.

Courts (Fiji) Limited director marketing Anil Senewiratne commended each participant that took part in the event.

“It was a very good turnout the participants were here by 5.30am,” he said.

“We are also happy with the support from the Ministry of Health led by the Minister for Health and Medical Services Rosy Akbar.

“The Minister was here with her family by 6am which is a positive move for us.”

In a fight to combat Non Communicable Diseases (NCDs) Courts Fiji in partnership with Sportsworld has launched the health and fitness programme.

Sportsworld chief executive officer Vinod Kumar echoed similar sentiments.

“We are happy with the turnout and having the health experts with us is a positive way to combat NCDs,” Kumar said.

The next Sportsworld Fun Walk/Run event is set for Saturday, February 25, at Namaka Police Post in Nadi.

The event starts at 6am.

There will be lucky dip prizes like Puma runners, t-shirts, shorts, balls, bags, mobiles, Philips juicer and plus many great prizes. The first 50 registered participants will receive a t-shirt.
