Public Rental Board (PRB) staff members will receive a bonus payout after a bonus of $41,175.33 was announced by Attorney-General and Minister for Economy Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum yesterday.

The bonus payout was a total from the years 2014 and 2015.

“The Bonus Payout for 2014 was $19, 617.30 and 2015 was $21, 558.03 which will be shared amongst the staff,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

The Minister thanked all the staff members for their support.

“This is a testimony to the teamwork that you all have put in for you to be able to not just meet your target, but be able to go beyond that to have the Public Rental Board performing at a particular level,” he said.

“Everybody, irrespective of whichever category of employment they are in will be getting a bonus.

“This payout is recognition of your hard work and I would like to thank you for the work you all have been doing.”

Mr Sayed-Khaiyum also added that Public Rental Board was doing a great job in providing affordable housing to the needy Fijians.

“All of you play a key and pivotal role in providing a particular right to ordinary Fijians and that is the right to have a roof over their head,” Mr Sayed-Khaiyum said.

“Under the Fijian Constitution, it is a right for a person to have access to affordable housing.

“The Government is also working and looking at expediting the availability of more flats to all Fijians.”

PRB acting general manager Patrick Vue, thanked the staff for their hard work.

He added:

“We will remain steadfast and work harder and smarter in promoting Government’s objectives in promoting rental housing to all Fijians.”

Public Rental Board is currently also in the process of completing more projects.

“PRB housing projects include 36 units in Kalabu, Nasinu, 48 units in Naqere, Savusavu, and 38 units in Simla, Lautoka.”

The bonus payout will be shared amongst 48 staff of Public Rental Board.
