Kasanita Biu aims to win a gold medal in the senior girls 200 metres at the 2017 Coca-Cola Games which is on April 20-22 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

The Year 13 student of Nabua Secondary School won silver in last year’s Coke Games. The Dakua, Tailevu native won her two sprint events 100m and 200m for her Lagakali House during the school’s inter-house meet at the ANZ Stadium yesterday.

She clocked 14.13s in the 100m and 29.75s in the 200m.

“This year I’m aiming to win gold since most of the teachers are counting on me,” she told SUNsports.

However, preparation for her training was quite difficult as she comes from a single parent family but it has not stopped her from pursing her dream to win gold.
