Latileta Qoro, the South Pacific Stock Exchange(SPSE) chief executive officer, resigned on Monday.

SPSE has appointed Ms Krishika Narayan as the acting chief executive officer.

The role of Ms Narayan has become effective immediately.

Ms Qoro in an interview said her resignation was not voluntarily but she had chosen to accept what had happened and move on.

“There are some things in life which do not make sense and somewhat unfair and probably beyond our control,” Ms Qoro said.

“What matters most is how you react to the situations and for me it is trying to make sense of what has happened and repositioning myself.”

Ms Narayan has extensive experience in the stock market having started off her career at SPSE as the Research and Compliance officer in 2009.

She also assumed the role of Manager Legal and Compliance and as Board Secretary to SPSE.

Ms Narayan will continue to act in the CEO position for a period of three months or until the exchange makes a substantive appointment for the position.

The Board of SPSE also thanked Ms Qoro for her services to the exchange.
