Makosoi House Rules Nabua Comp

Makosoi House won the 2017 Nabua Secondary School inter-house athletics competition at the ANZ Stadium, Suva yesterday.
The Makosoi House collected 20 gold medals, 17 silver and 9 bronze. Senibua House came second with 19 gold, 20 silver, 9 bronze medals followed by Lagakali House with 19 gold, 11 silver, 14 bronze and Senijale House came fourth with 8 gold, 12 silver and 13 bronze medals.
Makosoi House were declared the overall winners in the boy’s division while Senibua dominated the girl’s.
Despite the bad weather condition there were over 200 students who participated in the competition.
Head of Department PEMAC Salome Qerewaqa is hopeful the school would win two gold medals in the Coca-Cola Games.
“We are focusing on the track and not the field. It is the track events in the senior girls and that’s one perspective for us especially in the 100 and 200metres,” she said.
Qerewaqa also said their preparation for the Coke Games is coming out well as they are waiting to analyse the results of the inter-house competition.
However, she’s urging NSS ex-scholars for their support to encourage the students that are participating in the 2017 Coca-Cola Games.
“Nabua Secondary needs the support of the old scholars and that’s the only way the school can improve and become a new Nabua this year. We are trying hard to change people’s mindset about the school,” Qerewaqa added.
