The proposed Hope Party will begin their signature drive next week after finalising the party’s constitution and office bearers.

This was confirmed by proposed party vice-president, Pita Waqavonovono and he was confident they would get the required number of people signing into their party to be registered as a party.

“I have been asked by supporters to officially stand for the next general elections and I have accepted the offer,” Mr Waqavonovono said.

He said he hoped in the 2018 General Elections the proposed Hope Party they were setting up was registered and that he stood as a candidate for the party.

Academic and politician, Tupeni Baba has been named the advisor to the proposed Hope Party bringing with him extensive knowledge and experience in Fijian politics.

The proposed office bearers will also be in the field with their volunteers who are currently undergoing a workshop on what their work will involve to gather signatures.
