Ba Driver Makes A $30,000 Scratch

A Ba furniture company driver scratches Tattslotto cards whenever he goes to the market.
Last Friday he ended up scratching himself to a $30,000 payout.
Yesterday, the soft spoken Vinod Kumar was speechless as a $30,000 cheque was handed to him by the Tattslotto resident executive director, Grahame Browne.
It’s now a big story that the RC Manubhai Hardware’s Tattslotto outlet in Ba has recorded over six $30,000 winners so far.
Mr Kumar, 49, said he normally played Tattslotto whenever he came to do some market shopping for the family so it was not every week that he played.
Last Friday was one such day and his final scratch made him freeze.
“I did not yell or shout out loud, but called my sons and told them about the win.
“At first they did not believe him, but then they came and saw the winning ticket, the Secret Tanoa.”
Mr Kumar said he was speechless and said his win was through trying whenever he could to buy the Tattslotto ticket.
“I just kept trying and I am happy with this win.”
Mr Kumar, who lives in Korovuto, said he planned to use the money to build a proper house for his wife and two children.
Mr Brown said this was the second $30,000 winner this year with the first being in January in Nakasi.
“A winner usually turns up in every four to five weeks and anyone can achieve what Mr Kumar has achieved.”
“Come to any Tattslotto outlet and buy a $1 ticket that could win you $30,000,” Mr Brown said.
RC Manubhai’s General Manager Ba Kanda Samy said their Tattsolotto outlet was proving to be a lucky spot, as there have been numerous winners there.
