The Fiji Bus Operators Association members yesterday met with Police Commissioner Brigadier-General Sitiveni Qiliho and discussed wide-ranging issues from traffic to the role of Police officers.

It had been a rare occasion for the association to meet with a Police Commissioner and was facilitated by Minister for Economy and Attorney-General Aiyaz Sayed-Khaiyum to discuss matters relating to the economy.

The asssociation raised concerns about the traffic jam impact on the economy as well as charging people for vandalism.

Association acting president Pyara Singh said this had been the first time a Commissioner of Police had sat in on their meeting and discussed the limitations and limited resources Police had as well.

He said this meeting would not have been possible without Mr Sayed-Khaiyum’s assistance and thanked him for facilitating the meeting.
