Glorifying God, Enjoying Rugby

The Covenant Brothers 7s rugby team has up the tempo for the 2017 Fiji Bitter Marist 7s at the ANZ Stadium on March 24-25.
Brothers’ spokesman Joeli Makasiale said they were grateful to Vodafone Fijian 7s captain Osea Kolinisau for helping the team.
“We have lifted our preparation for the Marist 7s and we are grateful Kolinisau worked with the team polishing their skills and updating the boys on the new rugby rules.
“The team have been participating in local 7s tournaments and last week we participated in the Rewa 10s tournament in Burebasaga,” Makasiale said.
The team play rugby to utilise the God-given talent, spread the gospel and enjoy the game.
“We try to share the gospel through rugby and emphasise that everything is possible if you trust the ‘Lord’,” he said.
All of the players share a passion for rugby and while they don’t necessarily compete regularly in 7s tournaments, the Marist 7s has always been the one tournament the team competed in yearly.
“We would like to use the tournament to display the talents that the players have and glorify God at the same time.”
