Raiwai Boxing Club (RBC) trainer Marika Yalimaiwai was disappointed he could not attend the Referee and Judges Level One Course yesterday.

This was after Fiji Amateur Boxing Association (FABA) president Manasa Baravilala stopped him from entering the venue at the Fiji Association of Sports and National Olympic Committee headquarters in Suva.

Yalimaiwai accompanied four RBC members and was stopped at the door by Baravilala who informed him that he cannot be part of the course.

“I already have a Referee and Judge Level One certificate but I just wanted to go there and refresh my knowledge,”he said.

“Baravilala stopped me at the door and allowed the four to go through.

“He told me  I cannot be part of the course because I always give comments to the media.”

But Baravilala said Yalimaiwai was not on the list.

“Raiwai Boxing provided four names to our secretary general Asinate Ledua, and his name is not on the list,” Baravilala said.

It is understood Yalimaiwai’s is still being involved with the Jittu Boxing Club which is yet to be registered with FABA.
