Asif Khan and Narayan Naicker from Wailailai, Ba became the first rugby fans to purchase Super Rugby tickets at the Fiji Sports Council office in Suva yesterday.

The tickets for the Chiefs-Crusaders match on May 19 are sold at $190 (platinum seating), $150 (gold seating), $50 (concrete embankment) $30 (grass embankment).

Khan and Naicker left Ba early yesterday morning to purchase their tickets and were excited after purchasing their concrete embankment tickets.

“We knew they will start selling tickets so we left Ba early in the morning, ” Naicker said.

The 39-year-old watched the match last year and anticipates another exciting encounter this year.

“Last year was fun and we are looking forward again to see them this year as we know rugby brings people together in Fiji,”he said.

Fiji Sports Council chief executive Officer and Super Rugby games committee chair Litiana Loabuka also confirmed the importance for fans to buy tickets within this ‘Early Bird Specials’ period and to prevent themselves from being part of any last minute rush.

“If you come in early and buy your tickets between now and April 13 you will get the tickets at discounted rates,” Loabuka said.

The discounted tickets prices are $180 (platinum seating), $140 (gold seating), $40 (concrete embankment) and $20 (grass embankment).

“To prevent yourselves from being part of the last minute rush buy your tickets early either online or at our allocated sales outlets.

“The pre-sale of tickets guarantee fans will not be disappointed in taking the opportunity to watch this game up close and personal at the ANZ Stadium.

“Last year there was a mad rush on game day which left a relative number of rugby fans missing out on watching Fiji’s first ever Super Rugby clash at home,” Loabuka added.

Ticket Direct chief executive and managing director Matthew Davey encourages rugby lovers to flock to the Early Bird Specials promotion.

“This round 13 game between these two great rugby rivals is one that many cities would love to host but we were determined to bring this game back to Fiji due to the tremendous and vocal turnout we enjoyed last year.”
