The Vodafone Ba team at Govind Park yesterday.

Ba beat Rewa 3-0 in the Vodafone Women Senior League at the Fiji Football Association ground in Ba yesterday.

Coach Charlene Lockington said they managed to win despite the wet weather.

“Most of the Ba girls are excited over their selection into the national squad,” she said.

Rewa coach Naomi Waqanidrola said it was a tough game.

“We knew Ba won’t be an easy team to play against but I applaud the girls for the effort,”

Waqanidrola said.

We are looking forward to our next game against Labasa.  Hats off to the Ba team for a great game.  We also thank our supporters here and back at home and also the Rewa Football Association for supporting the girls.”

The goals were scored by Mereoni Tora (70th minute), Sonali Rao (80th ) and Louisa Tamanitoakula (86th)

Ba dominated most of the play while Rewa goalkeeper Mereoni Tinaimakabuna kept them in the game with some deadly saves before the floodgates open in the 70th minute.
