Grand President Plaza: D.C.Singh Investments Plan to Start by Mid Year

D. C Singh Investments Limited (DCSIL), a retail and property development company says it is going ahead with its Grand President Plaza in Loftus Street, Suva, with work expected to start  by mid year.

Director Chanan Singh said: “The 17-storey complex created under the current Suva City Council sustainable design guidelines, includes a retail/optional office space on the ground level, 3 levels of multi-space car park, and 12 levels of office space.”

He added the Suva City Council (“SCC”) had unconditionally approved the commencement of the project.

“It is expected that construction of the Grand President will commence shortly probably by mid of this year,” he said.

“A feature of the building will be a décor conference/boardroom facility with a 360opanoramic view of our great city that will more than accommodate the requirements of any tenant.”

He also said the Grand President encapsulated the benchmark for green building design, reflecting strategies to conserve energy, optional soft landscaping using water features and the use of local and environmentally friendly building materials.

Mr Singh said the main reason the company was investing in this structure was the shortage of quality commercial property in Suva’s Central Business District.

“The Plaza once completed will be able to accommodate both the private and public sectors of business,” Mr Singh added.

“This investment will grow our business and the country as many employment opportunities for our people.

“Almost 100-200 local people will be employed during the construction phase.”

The completed structure would be located at the corner of Loftus Street in Suva.

The estimated time of completion for this project is end of year 2018 or beginning of the year 2019.

Chanan Singh’s passion for tailoring and high quality fabrics began in 1964 in Suva.

That endeavour for success enabled him to open in 1974, Dominion Tailors, a boutique tailoring and retail showroom at Lala’s Building, on Waimanu Road, Suva.
