Police are investigating a robbery where three masked man broke into the Club Fiji Resort in Wailoaloa, Nadi yesterday morning.

Armed with knives and pinch bars, the masked men cut the padlocks and fled the scene with a safe containing cash. They also took bottles of imported liquor.

The thieves also robbed a female house guest of her belongings and fled in her vehicle.

Police spokesperson West, Corporal Wame Bautolu, confirmed the incident.

The entire incident was caught on a CCTV camera. The incident happened at around 3am.

Police later found the vehicle abandoned at Wairabetia in Lautoka around 10am.

One of the resort’s staff members, who wished to remain anonymous, said their female guest was robbed on her way to the check-out counter at the time of incident.

She was said to be making her way to drop off her husband at the Nadi International Airport to catch an early flight.

During the incident, two security guards were held at knife point.

Corporal Wame Bautolu said: “Police is investigating the incident and no arrests were made as yet.

“Items have not been recovered except for the gateway vehicle, which was used to flee the scene.

“We are appealing to the public if there are some information please do call 919 to assist Police in the investigation.”
