The honour of being recognised by the President is a major motivation for Abhinesh Chand to continue to help others.

Mr Chand of Votualevu in Nadi received the Medal Of The Order Of Fiji.

Mr Chand received the medal in honor of his community services in the Western Division.

Through his Jet Runners Club, he is able to provide training and test run competitions for national athletes regularly.

Moreover, he conducts free coaching seminars in schools and free repair works in needy schools as well.

Mr Chand employs school dropouts in his growing business.

The 32-year-old is the owner of Absolute Quality Tilers and Building Services Limited.

Mr Chand said he was thankful to those who believed in him.

“I would like to firstly thank my staff who stood by me when I first started the company with only one dollar,” Mr Chand said.

Mr Chand who felt the brunt of being a dropout, now employs dropouts but encourages them to study at vocational colleges.

He currently employs 12 staff to grow the business.

Mr Chand has been active in organising fun runs, competitions to test athletes.

“I did not expect this but thanks to the youth officer in the Western division and I would like to dedicate this award to all the youths of the country,” he said.

He also thanked the staff of Ministry of Youth and Sports in the Western Division.

Mr Chand said he would continue to support athletes in Fiji for national and international games.
