Brother Inspires Adi Inise to Work Hard

A 31-year-old Serea native of Naitasiri is inspired by the paintings of her younger brother.
“The tourists love my brother’s craft paintings because they are nicely crafted and with the art work, they catch the eye of everyone,” said Adi Inise Tuisese.
Adi Inise was one of the 30 women selling wares including handicraft at the Sisters in Business Market Day yesterday at the Vodafone Arena Car Park in Suva.
“The paintings are sold at a very cheap price which ranges on the size and craft works,” Adi Inise said.
“It is unbelievable for us to see how good his paintings are because he is a full time student studying engineering and then he works on his paintings after school.
“My brother is younger than me but he inspires me on how to be a hardworking person to earn for the family and study for his career.”
Adi Inise said the family relied on the earnings from painting and Do It Yourself (DIY) screen printings.
Adi Inise said her brother’s talent, her own designs and their mother’s hard work of selling the items in the market ran their home economically.
“These paintings and printings are the only source of income for my family after my father passed away two years ago,” she said.
“We are dependent on the earnings from the DIY screen printing shirts and my brother’s craft paintings.”
She said her mother spent the whole day at the market for the items to be sold and bring home some groceries.
“We have to work hard to get the items ready for the next few days as when the cruise liners come, then we have all or most of the items sold,” she said.
