Workers’ wellbeing
Sundar Singh, Suva
Thank you for your editoral (FS 25/2/17) explicitly clarifying all rights guaranteed for the workers under Employment Relations Promulgation and different mechanisms available at with the Ministry of Employment, Productivity and Industrial Relations for aggrieved workers.
This really sends the clear commitment of the Government towards the well-being and treatment of any worker.
The message is also very clear to the unionists and politicians who would want to create misunderstanding for political mileage without any valid reasoning.
Thank you again for disseminating such crucial issues to the general public.
And yes please can I contact you for any other crucial matters and its clarifications like one very good example as above, not forgetting your so many useful articles published in the past on several important issues.
Rights of workers

The editorial comments (FS/25/2/17 ) emphasized that the Employment Relations Promulgation ensured workers rights were intact.
I believe rogue employers including the largest employer in the country refuse to abide with provisions of the ERP. The enforcement arm of the state with this regards is weak.
Compensation payout rulings is testimony to the fact.
