The 4R Electrical Ba side lifted the 2016 Vodafone Women’s League title in style at the Fiji Football Association Academy ground in Ba on Saturday.

The ‘Ladies in Black’, after an impressive 3-0 win against Rewa on Friday, edged Labasa 3-2 in a nail-biting encounter.

The Naomi Cavasiga-coached Ba side was down twice and staged a second half fightback.

Labasa scored first through Sofi Diyalowai before Lema Nasau equalised in the 43rd minute as both teams were locked at 1-1 at  halftime.

The Northerners once again took lead as Stella Naivalulevu punished the Ba defence for not clearing the ball on time.

Louisa Tamanitoakula proved to be the ‘lady-luck’ of the side as she scored the equaliser in the 56th minute through a direct free-kick before heading-in the winner in the 60th minute.

“Labasa gave us a good run but the girls did the job in the second half.

“We would like to thank our sponsors  Navin Patel, Ba water boy Nicholas ,Rishi Kumar who took care of us financially when we were in camp.”
