Army Rugby are working hard to ensure that all players in their teams playing in the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament are in tip top shape come the day.

Manager Alfred Silimaibau said all their teams are preparing well and are looking forward to better their performance at the country’s biggest sevens tournament, which is from March 24-25 at the ANZ Stadium, Suva.

“Coming to the Marist tournament we can see that all teams are well-prepared,” Silimaibau said.

“For us the Army teams, we treat all teams the same. Also we treat all our games as the final and we don’t take any team lightly.

“After Coral Coast 7s we have been training harder, stronger and building-up our defence. We’re also looking at our weaknesses and trying to iron out basic mistakes that we normally commit inside the field. So we’re working on that and hope that all is improved before the Marist 7s.”

Silimaibau said they are still looking for a company to sponsor them for the Marist 7s.

“Sponsors nowadays are going for the top teams who win tournaments. So that is why we’re participating in small tournaments and showcase our wins with the hope that these companies can back us up.”
