LDS Encourages Students To Participate

Latter-Days Saints (LDS) is focusing more on student participation during their inter-house at the ANZ Stadium in Suva yesterday.
LDS vice-principal, Sereseini Qalovaki said, they wanted to build a bigger base and then from there they would focus on their preparation for the zone.
“The more participation we get we’re hoping that we will get more qualifiers for the events,” she said.
“Today is a big difference compared to the past years. The kids this year are very enthusiastic about taking part perhaps because we want to consider the exposure of our students to all the events. Another big boost is having their new one uniform which motivated the students to participate.”
Qalovaki said they are looking to improve on their fitness and they need more guidance in their preparation.
“There is a lot of team spirit within the school and they are looking forward to the tough competition from other schools,” she added.
Meanwhile, Jaredites took top honours at the inter-house with 26 gold medals, 21 silver and 13 bronze. Coming second was Lehites with 22 gold, 14 silver and 11 bronze medals followed by Nechite with 19 gold, 18 silver and 21 bronze. In fourth place was Mulekites with 18 gold medals, 25 silver and 22 bronze.
