Workers Security, Dan Urai, Lautoka

I received a call yesterday from workers in a security company complaining that they have not received any pay for the last three weeks.

Yet some want others to believe workers are protected under the provisions of the Employment Relations Promulgation (ERP).

Labasa Soccer, Sharif Shah, Suva

Labasa is well known for producing world class players.

I am deeply shocked to learn Labasa is now importing players just to win.

Can I ask the Labasa Soccer Association president as to which comes first, the local league or the formation of a district team?

The new national coach Christophe Gamel and the Fiji Football Association president Mr Rajesh Patel please take note, in our days a knockout followed by a local league  for a minimum of three weeks used to start the season.

The national league competition used to follow.

Local leagues use to run the entire season.

Now it is a complete turnaround.

What is the sense of having club soccer when a district team is already in action?

There is just no hope for the ones that cannot make the district team.

Some districts in the north have not had their local leagues for the last 10 years.

Young ones hope are fading away every  single day; so much so about development.

Mr Gamel, it will be a pleasure to hear your comments when you attend one of Fiji Football Association’s sanctioned tournaments whereby a team plays a maximum of five games of 90 minutes each over a period of seven days.

The worst is when a team plays two games in two days here in the north during the national league.

I wonder if the Occupational Health and Safety administration is sleeping on the job.

FFA is using the players to fill its coffers.

I demand an answer from you Mr Gamel as we all know that Mr Patel won’t answer; that is his legacy.

In conclusion Mr Gamel, FFA is slowly but surely killing all the present district players by making them play the above games and tournaments, killing the  future of club soccer and lastly but most importantly killing the future of our kids.

Every one is losing hope. Your selection as our national coach has brought about high hopes.

I only hope that you don’t follow the FFA legacy.

If in case you don’t know one, just ask the guy next to you.
