Naivakacau Players Ready To Impress

The officials of Naivakacau rugby 7s team from Nakelo, Tailevu are confident that some of their players are going to make heads turn during the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament.
Team manager Aporosa Boseiwaqa told SUNsports that their team consisted of young players who are willing to play and make their mark in the local rugby scene.
“We’re going to keep core of the players that played in the Island Chill Serua tournament since we were happy with their performance,” said the former Kadavu and Police Oldies forward.
“We still need to improve their fitness and for that we will go into camp and try to get the boys together so that they can have quality time where they can get to know each other well.
“They need to blend in and try to connect with each other. This is because during game time they will get to know their style of playing. We have Uluinakau 7s up next so the boys will play and try to get as many game time before the big one and that is the Marist 7s.
“These players are unemployed and when we came back from Australia last year we bought them a new set of uniform so they asked me to be the manager of the team.
“So for me it’s giving back to the team and I hope that the players will get somewhere good in future.”
The Tailevu based-side reached the Bowl final last weekend where they lost to Deuba. The Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament is from March 24-25 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.
