The scheduled trip for  MV Princess Civa to the Upper Southern Lau route was delayed by five days in the past week.

And this created confusion and frustration for passengers who had paid their fare in advance.

The vessel was scheduled to leave Suva last Monday.

However, it left last Saturday, it was confirmed by a representative of the vessel operator, Tokelau Shipping Services.

Isireli Mokunitulevu, company operations manager, said the delay was related to operational matters.

Mr Mokunitulevu said they were waiting for some other cargoes to be loaded, and this included oil drums from Total (Fiji) Limited.

A passenger who chose to remain anonymous said they were not informed about the delay.

But the company refuted otherwise.

Mr Mokunitulevu said the vessel sailed to Lakeba, Oneata, Komo and Kabara and returned to Suva yesterday afternoon.
