The Fijian community in Las Vegas took time out and visited the Telecom Fijiana side at the Downtown Grand Hotel yesterday.

It was an exciting moment for the team and boosted their morale after being hosted to a coffee break by the Fijian community.

Fijian community rep Poasa Veilawa said they planned to host a feast for the girls.

“It was an exciting experience for us to host the Fijiana team,” he said.

“We wanted to host a feast but we couldn’t since the girls were on a strict diet.

“The team looks happy and ready for the tournament this weekend.”

Veilawa said they understand the financial position our national teams faced compared to other teams.

“The allowances are not enough so we are here to assist the team in whatever way we can,” he added.

The Iliesa Tanivula- coached side had a day off from training yesterday.

The Fijiana side are up against hosts USA, Ireland and Spain in Pool B.

Fiji plays Spain in their first game on Saturday at 4:39am,  Ireland at 7:24am and final pool match against USA at 9:47am.

Fijiana is currently on fourth place with 24 points on the Women Sevens Series standings.

New Zealand leads on 36 pts,  Australia second (32) and Canada third (30).
