Local musical artists are expected to perform with Julia Zahra during her concerts next week.

The woman who sang ‘Just an Illusion’ which became a hit here is performing on March 10 at the Vodafone Arena, in Suva, and at Prince Charles Park, Nadi, on March 11.

In the lead up to her events, Darlene Underwood, Pacific Coast Events and Promotions co-ordinator, shared some light into what to expect for the upcoming concerts.

“The audience can expect a great show,” Ms Underwood said.

“We all know about how popular her ‘Just an Illusion’ song is here, now is the chance for her fans to hear her other songs and Julia will also get a taste of our local home grown artists when they perform alongside her.”

Ms Zahra, she said was well aware of how her popular her song was here and vowed via a post on the Mix FM Facebook Page to make a tour.

When asked about the number of supporting acts or bands who will perform alongside Zahra, Ms Underwood said: “This is a surprise element, at this stage; we are currently looking at the most popular bands that will also woo the crowd.”

The star’s segment will be 90 minutes and she will be doing her own originals together with some covers, she added.

“Zahra is a very versatile and talented performer. She won the Voice of Holland and is loved by her many fans in Europe,” said Ms Underwood.

The singer is wrapping up her tour in the Netherlands where she begins her Pacific Tour this month.

After Fiji, she will tour in Samoa and New Zealand.

Ticket sales

Ms Underwood said that ticket sales in Nadi and Suva for the concert had picked up over the past few days and the logistical components of the show are nearly finalised.

“As expected there are last minute changes and we just need to make adjustments accordingly,” she said.

“When I first met Zahra in December 2016, I was amazed at her calm and gentle nature; she actually fits in pretty well; she looks very Polynesian. She loves Fiji and said then, that she would return,” said Ms Underwood.

Tickets will be sold for $15 at the ticket outlets in Darmodar City Cinemas, Village 6 in Suva, Village 4 in Lautoka, TappooCity Suva and Tappoo in Nadi.
