The Fiji Meteorological Services director Ravind Kumar more rain was expected in the coming days.

This was after a trough of low pressure with cloud and rain remained slow moving over Fiji and it was expected to affect the group till Monday, he said.

“It is going to be a rainy month, so we expecting more rain,” Mr Kumar said.

“We are in this rainy season and from the month of April to July we may expect to have dry season.”

Mr Kumar said there would be localised heavy falls which may cause flash flooding of low lying areas.

He said the forecast today and for the Fiji group showed there would be occasional rain and a few thunderstorms over most places.

Isolated heavy falls expected while rain eases to showers today with moderate to rough seas, he said.

Mr Kumar said from tomorrow rain would ease down to showers over the southern Lau group.

He said some showers were expected over the interior and the eastern parts of the larger islands; elsewhere, afternoon or evening showers and possible thunderstorms.
