The MV Ocean Merry is currently in Galoa, Bua to load the first shipment of bauxite for 2017.

William and Goslings Operations & Logistics Manager Madhulesh Lakhan said, “The MV Ocean Merry will be in Galoa for 12 days loading approximately 70,000 metric tonnes of bauxite.”

He said the vessel would be loading approximately 70,000 metric tonnes of bauxite.

According to Mr Lakhan, Williams and Gosling are agents for this vessel and also agents for this scope of works up in North for past three years.

“This is the first shipment for 2017.”

MV Ocean Merry’s last port was People’s Republic of China (PRC) and is also transporting the bauxite to PRC as well.

According to Minerals.net bauxite is not a mineral, but rather a group of aluminum oxides. The term is generally used to describe the economically important mixture of these minerals, which form a mass of the individually classified members of Gibbsite, Boehmite, and Diaspore.

Bauxite does not make aesthetic or interesting specimens as far as collectors are concerned, but it holds importance as being the primary ore of the metal aluminum. Bauxite is named after the French village of Les Baux, where it was first recognized as an aluminum ore.

The MV Ocean Merry last Port was the Peoples Republic of China (PRC) and will be returning to PRC with the load of bauxite.
