Telecom Fijiana 7s utility back Timaima Ravisa was over the moon of her success at the USA 7s in Las Vegas last weekend.

Ravisa was the Fijian woman to top the DHL Performance Tracker and later was named in the Las Vegas Dream Team. The other Fijiana player to have made the Dream Team during the series was forward Rusila Nagasau.

“I thank the Lord for giving me the strength,” 27-year-old Ravisa told SUNsports yesterday.

“This has been part of my dream and to achieve this is a big step in my career.”

Ravisa who hails from Savudrodro in Savusavu has been part of the team for the past five years.

“I won’t rest on my laurels as there are few tournaments left that we will take part in and obviously looking forward in maintaining this momentum.

“As a player I will showcase all that I have learnt during training and also continue to work hard and put Fiji high in the seven’s series as far as women rugby is concerned.”

Fijiana 7s manager Serupepeli Kubunara said the team are on the right path.

“We are impressed with their performance in terms of skills and strength. The girls have showed this in their game.”

“There were no yellow cards and we are going on the right path now.”

Captain Ana Maria Roqica said: “We have learnt our mistakes and there is a need for us to make it to the top four.”

There is no major injury in the side expect for Nagasau who is nursing a finger injury.

The team finished fifth to remain fourth in the World Sevens Series table standing with 36 points.

They are behind leaders New Zealand (56), Australia (50) and Canada (46).

The team take a one week break and then a week of recovery before they prepare for the Japan 7s in April.
