Male teachers provide lunch to honour event
The male teachers of Swami Vivekananda College in Nadi yesterday provided lunch for their female counterparts as part of the celebration of the International Women’s Day at the school.
Head of Department Languages Margaret Naicker, said the day was also a day of appreciation for the role of women as daughters, wives, mothers, sisters and homemakers.
She said male teachers played an integral part in their celebrations showing a great example to society.
“This special day, dedicated to women around the world honours the great success of women across all spheres of life as well as shaping the future,” Ms Naicker said.
“International Women’s Day honours the women who have paved the path towards our progress and struggled to take womanhood to an exalted level where it is today.”
