Fiji Gas Celebrates Day Honouring Their Own

Fiji Gas was proud to celebrate International Women’s Day by recognising one of their own who holds the title of finance manager.
Ashmeeta Singh, 27, has been with the company since 2015.
She had received the Fiji Institute of Accountants’ Prize for Most Outstanding Graduate with the major in Accounting and a ORICA Fiji Ltd and Housing Authority Prize for Most Outstanding Graduate with a major in Information Systems.
Ms Singh hopes to be an inspiration to other women in business.
She said: “Life is full of challenges and to be successful you should have confidence in yourself and be consistent in what you do.
“Nothing can be achieved in today’s competitive world if you do not strive for excellence in whatever you do.
“To all the women out there, work hard and be focused in life to achieve your dreams and aspirations; only you have the power to control your destiny.”
In the past, the Liquefied Petroleum Gas (LPG) industry in Fiji, generally, has been mostly a male predominated industry, the release said.
The nature of the industry was such that majority of the workforce had been male.
However, Fiji Gas has a higher percentage of women in its finance and administration teams.
International Women’s Day on Wednesday was also a day to celebrate the success of women around the world and to value the contributions women have made.
