Baber Wants Team Effort

Vodafone Fijian 7s coach Gareth Baber said it all comes down to a game at a time.

He said it’s the best strategy, given what they’re up against.

“We need to take a game at a time”.

“We will regroup and focus on task ahead. We must play as a team and for one another.”

Barber said Joeli’ Lutumailagi was a huge loss  but his replacement Nacanieli Labalaba would just fit in fine with the team.

“Labalaba is great addition,”Baber said.

The team had a light run under an overcast, cold and wintery Empire Stadium Field in Vancouver.

Burnaby Senoir A men’s coach Ronald Vandervart who was at Field and closely watched the scrimmage made few observations and later made this statement.

“The team looks battered and bruised.

“There is that stigma which is amiss with this team versus the team that won the back-to-back World Sevens Series title and the Rio Olympics gold medal.”

Vandervart, with a smirk added that it will take Fiji more than a miracle to pull off the Vancouver Sevens and win the overall series.
