The Kamal Swamy coached- Lautoka football team are adamant of upsetting rivals Suva in tomorrow’s Vodafone Premier League clash at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori.

Lautoka Football Association president Adbul Kadir, said yesterday that it would be an exciting battle between the two cities.

“We are undefeated and we look forward to continue our unbeaten run but Suva will also want to win as well,” Kadir said.

“It will be an interesting match especially playing Suva at their home. The boys have been training despite the wet weather.”

Lautoka have been boosted with the return of national reps like goalkeeper Beniamino Mateinaqara, central defender Kolinio Sivoki, Jone Vesikula, Ilaitia Tuilau, Kavaia Rawaqa, Samuela Drudru, Dave Radrigai and Epeli Kosa.

The Blues have three points after beating Labasa 2-0 during the opening round while Suva also have three points from two matches. They lost 2-1 to Ba during the opening round.

Lautoka have recruited four Fijian Under-17 players during the last transfer window.

“We have selected a few U17 players to be part of the team and we are serious about developing them into the Lautoka senior team.”

Kadir added that Lautoka FA is also awaiting the clearance of striker Osea Vakatalesau from Ba.

“We are keeping our fingers crossed for Osea as we await Ba FA and Fiji FA to release him. If he gets it quickly then he will be playing for Lautoka on Sunday.”

Meanwhile, Fiji FA has postponed the match between Dreketi and Labasa which was scheduled to be played at Subrail Park, Labasa today.

“This is due to the unavailability of Subrail Park. Any inconvenience caused is regretted,” said National League Board secretary Amitesh Pal.
