The casting for a potential Miss World Fiji 2017 will be heading to the North as organisers widen the net to select the best Fijian representative.

“We’ve never been to Labasa before and we might find the new Miss World Fiji from the friendly north,” said Miss World Fiji national director Andhy Blake.

Mr Blake said the team was excited at moving to the North for the first time.

“We are looking for someone who is confident, you don’t have to be beautiful to contest the Miss World Pageant,” said Mr Blake.

Castings will be held in Nadi on March 18, Suva on March 25 and Labasa on April 1.

The first casting will be held in Lautoka today at the Village Four Cinema from 12pm-2pm.

Mr Blake is encouraging young women in Lautoka and in surrounding areas to turn up for a chance to be selected as one of the top ten finalists.

He said having the passion to represent Fiji on the international platform as well as having the passion for charity work was what they were looking for.

The top ten finalists will contest for the Miss World Fiji title on June 10 at the Grand Pacific Hotel, Suva.

The age requirement is from 16 to 26.
