The Australian Defence Force (ADF) donated $7000 worth of training gears to the Fiji Navy rugby team at the Stanley Brown Naval Base in Walu Bay, Suva yesterday.  ADF Warrant Officer Scott Campbell said the donation was in conjunction with the International Women’s Day which was celebrated on Wednesday.

“We donated the same gears to the Republic of Fiji Military Force for the development of the women’s team,” Campbell said.

“The Fiji Navy also required equipment for training so the ADF through the Australian High Commission are happy to assist.

Fiji Navy rugby captain Vesi Rarawa was grateful for the donation. “I would like to thank the ADF for the assistance as it will help our team prepare well for future tournaments,” the former national rugby prop said.
