A concern has been raised by the Nadi Carriers Association over the illegal operation of private cars near their carrier stand.

This will also be a topic of discussion during the Annual General Meeting when they will convene on Wednesday at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

President Abdul Khan said: “Members are looking forward to having this meeting so that we can raise our concern and hopefully find a solution to the problem.

“One of the very important issues of discussion will be on the illegal operation of cars operating in front of our base.”

Mr Khan said the association had filed complaints with the Nadi Town Council, Land Transport Authority and Fiji Police Traffic division at the Nadi Police Station but nothing had been done so far.

“We have written complaints and we have it here in black and white and we have made this known to the Ministry of Local Government,” Mr Khan said.

“Also the association will not be having any election this year during the meeting but we hope that everyone turns out so we can have a productive discussion,” he said.

The association has about 15 members. The AGM is scheduled for 10am.
