Sevens rugby legend Waisale Serevi urges the Vodafone Fiji 7s reps to play with pride for their country at the Canada Sevens in Vancouver as from today.

Serevi made the comment when he presented the jerseys to the Gareth Baber- coached side yesterday.

The Qarani, Gau native reminded the players to play every game like their last.

“Remember play your first seven minutes just like it’s your last game, do your best every minute and never give up,” Serevi said.

Following the second place finish in Las Vegas last weekend, Serevi encouraged the players to hold their heads up, be like the defending World Sevens Series and Olympic champions and let bygones be bygones.

“Las Vegas is history and we are here now. Remember we can do all things through Christ who gives us strength.

“The whole of Fiji is behind you and all Fijians in the world will be watching you and I know you can do it. Go and do it.”

Serevi reminded the players they have the Government and provincial support.

“President Major General (Ret’d) Jioji Konrote, Prime Minister Voreqe Bainimarama and the 14 provinces back home are supporting you.

“Go, complete the job,” Serevi added.

Fiji plays Wales in their first pool match today at 6:36am, Samoa at 10:12am and Argentina at 1:52pm.
