Our visiting young Dutch songwriter and singer, Julia Zahra, last night was confident that she had won the hearts of Fijian fans as she performed at Prince Charles Park in Nadi.

Hundreds rushed towards the stage to catch a closer glimpse of Ms Zahra as she called to the crowd from the pavilion to join her for the performance.

More so, the very excited Ms Zahra told the crowd: “You guys have made me feel at home, despite miles and miles far away.”

Therefore, she sang a Dutch song for the crowd which according to her meant “I’ll stay with you”.

The crowd took the Dutch song with all the loud cheers and love for Ms Zahra.

Joycelyn Karawa, 20, of Lautoka told the Fiji Sun last night: “This is the first time for me to attend a concert; the first time ever in my life and to attend a concert where you have a famous singer like Julia is just amazing,” Ms Karawa said.

Napolioni Nadurutamata of Nawaka, Nadi said: “I am so happy to have come out here today to view this live entertainment from Julia. Worth attending, I would say.

“We loved her voice; she nailed it.”

Joining the crowd, were many tourists from China, Australia and New Zealand.

Jessy Mocelutu, 25, from Melbourne, Australia, who is currently residing in Votualevu, Nadi, said the show was tremendous and she thanked the sponsors for making it happen.

The singer-songwriter struck a high chord in the hearts of the public when she sang her famous hit song ‘Just an Illusion’.
