The Tabadamu Blues rugby 7s team are targeting to score a hat-trick win at the Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament which is on March 24-25 at the ANZ Stadium in Suva.

The Jale Melo coached-side are determined to take up the Marist 7s title after being crowned champions in 2015 and last year again.

“Our goal for this year’s Fiji Bitter Marist 7s tournament is to defend our title and we are here as a team to win,” Melo said.

“We also are trying our best to be the first team to win the Marist 7s tournament, three times in a row.”

He also confirmed the side’s preparations are on track as they have participated in the Uluinakau 7s tournament at Ratu Cakobau Park, Nausori which is a build-up to the Marist tournament.

“Preparations are coming up well and we have some of the national reps who were part of the team previously like Nasoni Roko and Setefano Cakau who are now assisting the boys with their training.

“The Uluinakau 7s tournament that we have participated in is basically a build-up to the Marist 7s and I’m happy for the boys who have defeated some top teams during the two-day tournament.”

Melo said he is grateful for the support from their sponsors, team and supporters.

“I would like to thank our supporters from Namosi and our major sponsors CK Ezybuy and also our boys for their efforts, commitment put into the team,” he added.
