Tailevu Rugby Union (TRU) hopes for a successful and a better season in 2017.

TRU finished 11th in the 2016 Skipper Cup competition and will now compete in the Vodafone Cup competition this year.

A 10s competition was held at Sila Central High School yesterday to scout for new potentials to don the green and gold jumper this year.

Union secretary Joseva Turaganivalu said they would need to take a new direction.

“We told the players that whatever happened last year is history now,”he said.

“We should not be looking back but moving forward. We have to regroup and move forward.”

Turaganivalu was also impressed with the turnout yesterday.

“After this 10s tournament we will select a pool of players and they need to give their 100 per cent and to be proud of donning that green and gold jumper,” he added.

Tailevu will be coached by former national rugby star Seremaia Bai.
