I have only one message to people who are involved in this trade, we will get you, says Divisional Police Commander of Police Northern Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Veramu Nakauyaca.

The senior Police officer issued this warning after Police seized 300 plants believed to be marijuana in Tacilevu, Cakaudrove, during a raid on Tuesday.

“For those people who are doing illegal activities, we know them and we are going after them,” he said.

In a media release, Police spokesperson, Ana Naisoro said: “In custody are four people who were found with dried leaves and plants believed to be marijuana.

“The raid was conducted with the assistance of the Republic of Fiji Military Forces as information received that the four were allegedly in possession of dangerous items that could have seriously harmed our officers.”

SSP Nakauyaca added that these successes in fighting drugs were all possible through tips from the public. The plants whose heights ranged from one to five metres were found in two separate farms in the area.

The plants are at the Labasa Police Station awaiting analysis.
